St. Anthony of Padua
1. All members of the Pastoral Council elected by the Parishioners of St. Anthony of Padua are eligible to hold office.
2. The nomination of new Pastoral Council members shall be held on the first weekend of October of each year. The election shall be held the first weekend of November at all Masses. The (3) individuals with the highest number of votes shall be elected to a three-year (3) term. New Council members will be commissioned and take office during the December meeting. Each year thereafter, three (3) council members shall be elected to a three-year (3) term.
3. An unexcused absence shall be any absence by a council member who has failed to notify an officer of the Pastoral Council or the Pastor prior to the meeting. Membership on the council will be terminated after three (3) consecutive unexcused absences. The council and/or the Pastor will then appoint a member of the Parish to fill the vacancy for the duration of the unexpired term.
4. Ex-officio members do not have a vote on the council.

SECTION 2: Member Correspondence:
A. Meeting agenda and minutes of the last meeting are to be mailed to the council members approximately one (1) week prior to the meeting.
SECTION 1: Standing Committees
A. Community Projects: Advises on matters of community appeals, addresses the need for activities and programs for young people and senior citizens: families in need; visiting the sick at home and in the hospital; maintains bulletin boards for information pertaining to jobs, alcoholism, drug abuse, mental retardation and the handicapped; and is liaison between the parish and the news media, etc.
B. Family Life Committee: Coordinates with pastor and staff those activities, seminars and meetings that deal with marriage and family, marriage preparation, FOCCUS, assistance to widows, divorced, separated, singles and "at risk" marriages and families, etc.
C. Liturgy Committee: Coordinating, planning and assisting in Liturgies and functions with the worshiping community, as well as parish ministries (Extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, Lectors, Commentators, Altar Servers, Music Ministers, Ushers, Décor, etc.).
D. Maintenance Committee: Monitors and makes recommendations to the Pastoral Council on all matters pertaining to the upkeep of property and facilities of St. Anthony of Padua.
E. Religious Education Committee: Coordinates with the D.R.E. activities of the Parish Religious Education Programs, Parish Sacramental Preparation Programs, RCIA, Adult Education, Children's Liturgies, etc. The Director of Religious Education shall also be on this committee.
SECTION 2: Appointments
A. Committee chairpersons shall be appointed by the Pastoral Council President with the approval of the Pastor.
SECTION 3: Committee Members
A. The chairperson of each committee is urged to enlist the services of those parishioners who are best qualified for the specific purpose of that committee.
SECTION 4: Meeting Reports
A. A record of each committee meeting shall be presented in writing at the regular Pastoral Council meeting.
